Islamiyat Studies for KS3
Our KS3 Islamiyat programme offers students a rich and comprehensive understanding of Islamic teachings, values, and history. It lays a strong foundation for spiritual and moral growth, focusing on three central areas:
Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence)
Students explore the practical aspects of Islamic law, focusing on acts of worship such as Salah (prayer), Sawm (fasting), Zakah (charity), and Hajj (pilgrimage). They also study ethical conduct in everyday life, delving into concepts like Halal and Haram. This component aims to provide students with the knowledge to practise their faith confidently while nurturing discipline, mindfulness, and a moral compass aligned with Islamic principles.
Seerah (The Life of the Prophets, Prophet Muhammad - PBUH, and the Companions)
The study of Seerah covers the inspiring lives of key Prophets, such as Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Musa (AS), highlighting their roles in guiding humanity and their unwavering devotion to Allah. Students also study the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), focusing on his early life, his mission, and key events such as the Hijrah and his teachings that transformed society.
Additionally, the lives of the Prophet’s companions (Sahabah) are explored, emphasising their courage, dedication, and exemplary character. Students learn about figures like Abu Bakr (RA), Umar (RA), Aisha (RA), and Fatimah (RA), using their stories as sources of inspiration for leadership, resilience, and community service.
Aqeedah (Islamic Beliefs)
Aqeedah focuses on the foundational beliefs of Islam, such as Tawheed (the oneness of Allah), Prophethood, and the Hereafter. Students delve into topics like belief in angels, divine scriptures, and predestination (Qadr). This study helps students develop a deeper connection to their faith, instilling confidence, purpose, and a strong spiritual identity to navigate life’s challenges.
